Can I also blame Alicia Vikander a little bit for this mess too? While critics aren’t saying that Vikander sucks in Tulip Fever (they’re just saying the movie is terrible), I just feel like… we’ve been here before. The release date for The Light Between Oceans kept getting pushed back too, and it felt like a case of “the emperor’s new clothes” where no one really wants to admit that Vikander in particular really can’t carry a film and that she’s not really a “draw” as an actress.
A-ha-ha. I see Kaiser still can’t let go of of her need to put Vilkander down, though now she has to phrase it more circumspectly because quite a few people on CB, including the regulars, like Vilkander.
It is said, living well is the best revenge, and Vilkander is doing exactly that. Enjoy your sour grapes, Kaiser.

I loved this comment on a Swift post yesterday. Well said, Erica.
Erica_V says:
Until Kanye apologies for using her naked likeness without her consent Taylor doesn’t have to apologize FOR ANYTHING!!!
Why does everyone forget he did that to her? Why does everyone insist Taylor take the highroad? She does not have to be the bigger person just because she’s a woman!! Kanye is a misogynistic douchebag and Taylor doesn’t owe him a single thing.

A few thoughts on the some of the last days of posts
* People going to town on Susan Sarandon. Really? Susan Sarandon has been a lefty for longer than many of us were alive and now you are judging her? If your party doesn’t have a place for a brave and principled person that is Susan Sarandon then I am not interested in being in your party.
* It is funny to read the praise for Taylor Swifts given so grudgingly. Admit it, Taylor Swift has guts and has strength that is to be admired and she did all feminists a huge service by standing up for herself and not folding. Yes, she is privileged but she is still a human being with feelings. She definitely did more for feminism than Kanye will ever do. And I still remember some of the posters defending Kanye over his video with naked wax replicas of Swift and others.
* No fan of Ivanka or nepotism, but I wouldn’t be so readily jumping on board with criticism of her by Indian officials, many of whom think that a woman is a lesser human being. I felt a whiff of that in their condescension towards Ivanka.

Anonymous asked: Came across your blog today. I found out about CB about 5 years ago and I for some reason I thought Kaiser is Asian/Hindu/American and that she went to Law School or I could be confusing her with one of the other writers. I was not aware that people had been banned but I did notice that the there is a "in line" type of comment. What made me not want to look at that site was a video I found on youtube about a commentator of CB talking about how she had been bullied in an AJ thread on CB. Sad.
I think Kaiser mentioned that she is half-Indian, I have my doubts. She knows little about India and Indians and the knowledge is superficial She comes across as an American white. It is possible that she is half-Indian but was raised by the white side of the family and has no connection to the Indian side. Still, she doesn’t seem to have any desire to learn more about India. And that makes me think she is a white person posing as someone else. It is internet, there is no way to tell.
Bullying and piling on are pretty typical of the CB, if you hold an opinion not shared by the majority of posters.
But yes, I think you are thinking about the right person.

Anonymous asked: Kaiser Wilhelm (what the arm candy and myself call that individual) and her obsession with all things Angelina Jolie is borderline insane. If AJ ever came across that thing she'd probably laugh in it's face or get a restraining order. AJ probably would not even spit in KW's direction if that thing was on fire. Freaking nut. How old is KW again? It behaves like a petulant bratty child. Almondmilk and Maya are just as bad. Heaven help you if you attack their precious idol. Cool blog by the way.
CB Angelina’s fans are quite over the top. It is no wonder most celebrities can’t handle fame. If you have people who practically worship you, and will fight anyone who doesn’t, it can’t be without consequences for the object of the worship. I’d probably run and hide far away with fans like this. I hear Beyonce’s and Taylor’s fans are like this as well. Some people grow out of it, but many don’t.
Also, the older I get the more I realize that most adults didn’t actually grow up. They are just pretending and playing their roles. Inside they are the same teenagers, just with less mood swings. -))
I have to say, it is a curious choice of the nom de plume by Kaiser. I am assuming she didn’t call herself Kaiser as in the Emperor, or did she? She behaves like one, for sure.

The “With us or agaisnt us” Attuitiude that WOC have on Cb…
It’s so hard as a POC to share any opinion that goes agaisnt the grain because once you do, everyone jumps on you.
It’s not right.
——————————————————-
That is how CB is on everything, really. If you go against consensus, people immediately jump on you and actually misinterpret what you said on purpose, to make it seem worse than it is.
And then, for the coup de grace, Kaiser bans you, so you can’t even say that those misinterpretations of your words are completely off the mark. You have to read 50 posts telling you how awful you are, even though you didn’t even say the things the people are arguing against.
They love to build a strawman and then to keep fighting it.

Oh, wow. The discussion on the Aladdin casting is really something. Who are these people claiming the actress is not “brown enough”? This is wrong in so many ways.
Additionally, as shocking as it might seem to many Americans, who have their own homegrown race classifications, Arabs are white. They identify themselves as white. Many of them are as light skinned as Europeans.
In this context a half-Indian half-white actress is absolutely fine.
I liked this comment by teacakes, among the sea of the cringeworthy ones. She gets why the reverse-paperbag test is wrong.
teacakes says:
…. it’s all very well to talk about how this is a fictional country and any brown person will do, but the 1992 movie literally opened with a song called Arabian Nights. I’d say that’s a pretty strong hint about where in the world this story is set and the origins of the characters.
That said, the ‘not brown enough’ Internet racial purity paperbag test Naomi Scott is being subjected to following her casting, is gross. I’m Indian and I have friends of full Indian descent like me who are lighter skinned than her – one of them was my best friend from school, and Naomi actually looks a freakish lot like her when she smiles.
Colorism is real but I have to say it, it doesn’t give anyone the right to declare her not Indian. And neither does ethnic ambiguity – plenty of non-white Indians look like they could be from other places, it doesn’t make them not Indian. I really feel like this anger is being misdirected at this girl because everyone is more caught up in how she isn’t Indian enough, than in targeting Disney for their screwups) And don’t even get me started on the ridiculousness of people going off on Mena Massoud’s being Coptic – he’s still Arab, isn’t he? As Aladdin should be.

Stating speculation as Fact
I have noticed that Kaiser loves to use her opinion of events and people as facts. Last week in regards to Kate’s jewelry during the state visit by the Spanish Royals.
Kaiser said,“ The Queen also made Kate wear some big jewelry, and of course it didn’t work.”
How does Kaiser know what the Queen made Kate do or didn’t make Kate do? All of her speculation and bias is fact. Of course I attempt to comment that this isn’t fact at all and just speculation. Surprise it didn’t make it through the moderation.
Kaiser is a snake oil salesman in the business of selling speculation, bias, and BS.
———————————————————
Yes, Kaiser also thinks she knows what Taylor Swift thinks about anything. But the worst is when she intentionally misinterprets some celebrity news item to make a celebrity look bad. I think she does it on purpose because then she gets dozens of posts from the said celebrity fans trying to explain that this is not what actually happened.

Anonymous asked: I officially left CB around the time Trump won the election but had already been making a conscious effort to stay away from the site quite a while before that. The environment is toxic and rabid. After Trump won it went nuclear. They (Kaiser and most of the commenters) don't care about any other opinion other than their own hate. Truth and facts also don't matter and oh and forget suggesting people need to learn and understand why others may have for voted trump so maybe we could fix the issue
The political articles there are the worst. No discussion of what might’ve gone wrong and how the country could be improved is allowed. The posters turn on anyone daring question the official Democrats party line and start blaming that person for everything that is wrong under the sun.

Anonymous asked: They're really going to town on Elizabeth Banks for some reason. Is she one of their hate objects?
I am not sure. I think it is because of the racial aspect. She is a “white feminist” and it is not good enough for the posters there.
This comment explains it :
“
She didn’t mean Spielberg she’s cast more roles for women. She meant for white women lol this is such white feminism. She dismissed the color purple bc it was a film of women of color.
“
And to add to this. I don’t find Banks likeable myself. But I see the point she is making, albeit she made it very badly and picked a really bad target. If you want to talk about misogyny in Hollywood you shouldn’t be making Spielberg your target, you should be making Spielberg your ally.
But you know what. Banks might be a “white feminist” and she might not be good enough, but if she is speaking for your cause, maybe hold your horses a bit with criticism. Don’t let the perfect to be the enemy of the good.
And I think that is exactly the problem with CB. Unless someone is pitch perfect, they get torn to shreds. And you get to the point where nobody is good enough. And that is very negative and soul destroying.
