I have a couple things on my mind today in light of the Lauer’s debacle.

First, his co-hosts were crying about it and then I saw an article in the Guardian about how we have to reconcile horrible actions by a well loved man. And I thought -  give me a f*ing break! I don’t need to reconcile anything. The guy is a dirtbag and that is that. The fact that he worked for an organization you approve of doesn’t make him more palatable. In fact, the said organization (NBC) clearly enabled him, because there were enough warning signs.

In connection to this I came across the Lauer’s interview with Anne Hathway from 2012 where he pestered her about inappropriate photos of her taken by paps and he was clearly set to humiliate and diminish her. How was that ever considered to be an acceptable behavior by an interviewer?

Anne handled it like a professional that she is, and kudos to Anne. Yes, kudos to Anne,  who Kaiser also tried to diminish so many times. And you know what, Anne comes out of this looking like a queen. And all her critics look petty and immature.
