This exchange caught my eye today. I too recently discovered Michael Shannon. I think he is very talented, has a  strong screen presence and is very attractive.

I agree with the original poster, though. I think women should hold themselves to the same standard regardless of who they are talking about. Don’t do to others what you wouldn’t like being done to you. Talking about how bangable somebody is, especially when you know they are in a long term relationship is not kosher.

And, excuse me? Michael Shannon is not conventionally attractive? He is drop dead gorgeous. He has classic bone structure. He is a very handsome man. In addition to being an upstanding human being.

I also like his quote about sex, he speaks the truth. "I always say sex scenes in movies, it’s just like having sex, except without any of the pleasure, but all the horror, fear, anxiety, sadness, and loneliness is all there to enjoy, just none of the pleasure part.”

Sex is not always hearts and rainbows. it also involves anxiety, taking a risk, a chance of disappointment . it takes courage to openly acknowledge it.

I am convinced that as long as adults like those continue to believe what they say about other people is okay, that child bullies will always exist.
