The U.S. does have labor laws protecting workers on overtime.
“
There are no protections for so-called exempt, typically white collar, workers. Even if we work 20 hour days we get no overtime pay. Only hourly workers are paid overtime, but typically those jobs are low pay (at minimum wage) and without any benefits and health insurance, so nobody wants them.
Once I came to blows with my boss, who is probably the best boss I’ve had, and I love her dearly, over me having an issue with being asked to work on Saturday at a very specific time (11AM), not an hour earlier and not an hour later, all with 1 day notice. I was taking my daughter to a birthday party at that time. And my boss honestly couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t sacrifice my kid’s birthday party for work!

Will they stop already with Meghan’s “American work ethics”. I am not American by birth, I am naturalized citizen. And I think I can safely say, having lived and worked in several European countries, that what many Americans call “work ethics” Europeans call “exploitation”. And if Meghan wants to fit in, she needs to come to grips with it.
There is nothing positive about spending 12-14 hours at work, for very little money, and thinking it is normal. But this is what Americans do, day in and day out, and many, not all, are proud of it, while their families suffer. And the rest, like myself, are not given any choice, so we have to do it because we have no rights. And it is not that I am lazy, I am valued and promoted regularly. But I just have a very different outlook on the work-life balance.
I’ve read enough interviews with Hollywood actors to know that they often work 12-16 hour days while shooting a movie, they are in make up chair at 5 AM. Which means the make up artist and all the support personnel is probably at work by 4 AM and late into the night. And they are not paid that much. Now, coming from that world, if Meghan thinks this is how her staff is expected to work, and this is how Europeans work, oh boy, she is going to drive people up the wall big time.
Another big difference is the emphasis on self-marketing and self-promotion in the US, which in most countries is seen as shocking and completely unacceptable touting of your own horn.

Yesterday I was looking at some recent royal bridal gowns. And I remembered how about a year or so ago Kaiser kept going about princess Sofia of Sweden, and how Sofia was so much better when compared to Kate. And then Meghan came around, and Sofia is completely forgotten. It just goes to show that Meghan or whoever else Kaiser gashes about, is just a tool for her to spread hatred of the “other princess”. Her adoration is not genuine. You can see the same pattern with other celebrities as well.

Anonymous asked: People say NOTA is crazy, it's true. But DigitalUnicorn is actually insane. Her hate for Kate, William and the Middleton is OTT, even for CB.
I seem to remember Digital Unicorn from a while back, I think she is an equal opportunity hater. ))) She does have a way of finding the most negative interpretation of everything.

Anonymous asked: Love this comment: And the Cambridges have been all over the news with their events. "The way the narratives are shaped by people who have absolutely no dog in this fight is unusual. It’s so silly when a platform essentially becomes the propagandist arm of one side of the BRF as if they have any influence over what’s unfolding but I guess shutting down dissenting opinions is the new way of doing business. So weird."

Anonymous asked: Kaiser identifying with Meghan makes sense. It's like she feels personally attacked when someone is saying something negative about Meghan. She also likes playing the victim and uses Meghan to do so. That's why she goes out of her way to constantly link to the Daily Mail (of all things) to find negative stories. Funnily enough, I don't think Meghan and Kaiser are alike at all. For one, I find Meghan very sympathetic and smart. Kaiser, not so much.

Anonymous asked: Kaiser seems to identify with Meghan too strongly. She is convinced that the whole of the UK is constantly talking and thinking about Meghan, probably because she wants to feel like she/Meghan is the centre of the universe. This while almost nobody in the UK talks about the royals at all, except when there's a wedding or a birth. And even then lots of people don't talk about it as they have their own lives to live.
I agree. She takes it all very personally. The same with Jolie. It happens to some fans and it is not healthy. They start acting as if those people are a part of their lives, while the celebrities don’t even know this or that fan exists. It is a very sad, one-sided relationship.
Kaiser spent how many years writing for Celebitchy? 8 or so? And she is on the site constantly, it is her life. And this way it is also very easy to lose perspective if she is on the site whole day and doesn’t go out into the outside world. She lives in her own bubble.
I was just thinking the other day - how sad is it that someone would dedicate their whole life to a toxic gossip site. There is no upside to it. At least entertainers can feel that they are doing something productive by helping people unwind, lifting their moods. But with a negative, toxic site like Celebitchy? There is no positive contribution, it is a waste of one’s life.

I’ve been reading celebitchy for about 8 years now and Kaiser has gotten progressively worse. She’s passive/aggressive, sheltered and rude to the commentors. So glad I found this blog!
Eta, I posted this message as a response to another poster, still learning to use this site, sorry!

Anonymous asked: So, they say it's leaner and now have to do Amazon promos...how far they have fallen. They really don't see it wouldn't be so lean if they didn't ban so many people? I was banned for saying something that didn't break any rules. I didn't even attack anyone, just gave a different opinion on something without any negativity towards anyone (celebrities or people commenting). I am not going there anymore as I don't want to help them by clicking.
