This post on the Alicia Vilkander thread just about sums up what Celebitchy is - a place for grown women to get their daily fix of ripping into women they don’t like. It is disturbing.
There used to be at least 2-3 posters who stood up against this, myself included, but now they are all gone. Celebitchy is a dark, toxic place.
“
Mira Belle says:February 28, 2018 at 8:50 pmNot feeling the outfit/styling at all. But the comments upthread are next-level gold. Extra points for Pillars of the Earth mention lol for days on that. Star Wars sex worker is so on point.
It’s been a rough day. These comments turned it around for me. Y’all are awesome“
This just exposes them as hypocrites than they are. They are willing to overlook this because they like Meghan, though you don’t get anymore tone death than buying a 75K dollar dress.
Was that the case with the guy living in Monaco and the woman an American reality TV star? If that was the case, then if I remember correctly she made up a story that he was involved with mafia, and the INS revoked his visa. The long story short - he couldn’t visit his kids in the US because, thanks to her, he was no longer allowed in the US.
In that case I think the judge’s decision was fair. If the father cannot come to see children, then there is no other way than for the children to live in the same country as him.
Still, this doesn’t mean you should’ve been banned for having a different opinion.
Today we have 3 Aniston posts, an obligatory Kate post, and an obligatory Kardashian post. Then an Oscar Issac post (I could do more Oscar posts, he seems like a lovely man, but I can tell that Kaiser doesn’t really follow him and only posts about him to get clicks) and a lame attempt to to rope back in Cumberbatch fans, which was not going to work, of course, after what went on Celebitchy after his marriage, with Kaiser’s help.
In the usual toxic CB fashion, the Oscar Isaac’s post turned into a fight about whether Danes are racist or not.
A dozen grown women ranting about buttons on a coat were completely ridiculous. I mean , really, that is all it takes to set them off - buttons on someone’s coat?
I actually like military style coats with buttons myself, and I can’t stand tailored coats, I find them uncomfortable and restricting. So what?
Ow, I just read that Oscar Isaac married his girlfriend. And he said such nice things about her.
See Kaiser, she is not a “baby mama” and she never was. she was an equal partner in a relationship, you sexist know-nothing.
it just makes me so offended when women are called a “baby moma” or “knocked up”. It is so disrespectful and sexist.
The last few months Celebitchy seems to be down to 2 main topics - British Royals and Kardashians. These are the only 2 topics Kaiser can write about comfortably. This is the depths of her interests. I honestly don’t know why people stick around Celebitchy. For their daily fix of bashing Kate?
It was getting pretty repetitive, and like a gift from heaven, the Aniston’s divorce came about and Black Panther.
Today the most commented on articles were the one about Kate’s BAFTA dress and the Aniston’s divorce, both with 300 comments. Clearly, the most pressing issues of the day …
It means they cannot comment. You would type a comment, click “Post” and the comment would never appear. You don’t get a message that you are banned , or anything. Your comment simply disappears.
I have been following CB for 12 years and commenting for the last 2-3. Kaiser moderates out comments that don’t fit her narrative even if nothing is improper or offensive. She wrote this post today that was really pinging on “blonde and blue eyed” women having all things easy in life. It was unfounded and borderline offensive. I made a comment saying that I didn’t understand the repeated emphasis on “blonde and blue eyed” and boom, I was out. And she is weirdly obsessed with hating Kate Middleton every single day. I don’t get it.
————————————–
I think I saw your comment and I agreed with you.
LOL. Thanks for sharing. I had a good laugh.
Hi! Just was added to the banned group on Celebtichy and found your blog. I was reading your posts and came across one ask about Jenny Slate. She became a controversial point between Chris Evans’ fans. The timeline of their relationship changed many times and through checking SM posts and gossip, there is serious indication that Jenny cheated on her husband with Chris. After their relationship was announced, people checked her twitter and found tweets joking about gays, transgenders, overweight people, women and how they dress, suicide, mental issues. Those tweets were all deleted after she started to be called out for them, but there are screenshoots here on tumblr in a few blogs. In a stand up comedy in Boston, she made a joke about Shirley Temple and child abuse. She talked and wrote about shitting on her pants on purpose. As an adult. And her father, with who she wrote a book, said in an interview in NPR that Jenny tends to tell the facts not in the way they really happened (She lies). She said in the same interview that she was bullied and had no friends and her father said she was popular and a party girl. In the same book, she doesn’t keep the timeline of them end of her marriage. One page she says it ended 3 years before she separated, in another page she says 1 year. Because of all that, drama started between Chris Evans fans. They started to question the image he sells for the public and the fact he dated/ dates her. I understand if you don’t this because it is not the topic of your blog.
————————————
It is fine/ I have no opinion on this, since I don’t follow either of them. But you know what? But even if this is true, people don’t have to be perfect to be loved. Chris doesn’t have to be perfect and Jenny doesn’t have to be perfect. People fall in love with flawed people all the time. If that wasn’t the case, the human race would go extinct -))
So I must be a glutton for punishment, but I commented on their the past two days on my home computer (so different IP address) and hoo boy was it bad. Any comments on posts about the metoo movement, women’s issues and issues with children are a dumpster fire.
Kaiser really shouldn’t talk about pregnancy, childbirth or raising children because she sounds ignorant. A commenter called Bridget went in on me on every article I commented on (specifically because I said no OBGYN would ever induce a woman before term just so she didn’t gain weight or to fudge her due date, I don’t care how corrupt they are
and also because I said that Quentin Tarantino and others defending Polanski or putting down victims and accusers didn’t get as much attention for those comments in pre social media days- but no apparently I’m super wrong). So that got me to thinking, what’s with their super old and outdated comment section. No Disqis? Is it because of Kaiser’s power trip or simply because is easier for the same person to leave multiple comments backing each other up? Also I truly think Kaiser is actually behind some of the regular commenters on there. As in, they aren’t real people, it’s Kasier with multiple personalities.
———————————————–
Quite a few people think that Kaiser posts under different names. I think it is likely.
Just wanted to say thank you for creating this place for us in exile. I guess I’m still banned because my post about Kim Cattrall didn’t go through. I find it interesting that they are all Team Kim when she is pitted against Sarah Jessica Parker, but completely silent about how Kim worked with Roman Polanski in Ghost Writer. They call every other person out and expect other outlets to call actors out, but if you point this out, Banned.
Also interestingly enough, they love Kim so much, but Kaiser said nothing, not even in Links about Kim’s brother being missing and then deceased just a couple days ago. Guess they only care about Kim when it’s her versus SJP. Kaiser has created a little cult over there, the regulars are just mini Kaiser’s. Its more toxic than fun if anything now.
—————————————————-
It is an echo chamber. It is very unhealthy to be inside it. People feel good when they are in agreement. But should they express a different opinion, they suddenly find themselves as targets from vicious attacks by the same people with whom they were having a nice chat just yesterday.
Why didn’t my post go through?
———————————————————–
You are fine -)). I just now logged on and saw it. I don’t have a ban list.
Well, Alexa is an Amazon product, so it is credible enough, and the traffic stats are free. There are probably more sophisticated services for money.
According to Alexa, traffic at CB has been at about the same level since January 2017. That was when the Trump articles brought in a lot of traffic. it has been falling since then, but ever so slightly. The low was in April 2017 and then there was a pick up towards the elections.
Right now Celebitchy.com is ranked as # 23,715 site globally and #7,576 in the US. That is about the same position as when I started this blog a year ago. Bit it is much lower than in 2016, when they were almost twice as popular, they were number #14K globally, now #23K. I’ll try to post a screenshot tomorrow.
This must’ve been an outfit of a person you are supposed to hate -)).
Oh, I know what it was, - Kate’s yellow Erdem dress! They have some irrational hate for Kate. I don’t know what is the root of it. Kate is harmless. But she can do no right in the eyes of the some CB posters. And Kaiser keeps the hate alive, because it means more clicks for CB.
This is not the only time she has done it too. She did the same with Sophie Hunter, and Alicia Vilkander. She nurtured the hate and then pretended she had nothing to do with it.
The other day the CB posters also went to town on Melania’s ankle pants. And I remember thinking - aren’t these all the rage in London? Sure enough, the next day Meghan wore ankle pants and they were all singing her praises. So petty.
I thought this was supposed to be about celebrity bs–a place for some lighthearted fun and distraction–but reading the comments i feel like i’ve just huffed toxic waste or watched a puppy get ripped apart by hyenas. It’s honestly the most vicious, negative forum i’ve ever seen. If i had a time machine I’d nominate Celebitchy for a cameo in Ghostbusters 2 as the byproduct of that pink rage-sludge. Do these people watch undercover PETA videos to unwind or what? It’s quite a feat when a celebrity gossip site is more stressful to read than the actual news.
—————————————
Lol, true that. They are so negative. Reading CB is like watching FOX News, they are a mirror image. They think they are woke, but they use the same tactics.
Celebitchy is a disgusting site. All it is is a group of white women circle jerking about how woke and feminist they are, the comments are heavily moderated yet every article is full of double standards, sexism and subtle racism.
The RBF posts are disgusting, sexist and the same 15 people just bully one person and jump on anyone who dares say something nice about the devil that is Kate Middleton. Someone said they thought Kate was taking a “fashion risk” and was quickly laughed at and told they were wrong.
How are you wrong about YOUR OPINION? Something that you subjectively think? Then the outright racism in the Beyonce posts. Every single one of them are in my opinion at one time or another, racist, hypocrital and bullies. No one on that site is woke. I’m starting to believe that Kaiser isn’t an WOC. What kind of WoC mods out people for opinions they don’t agree with, yet would allow the outright racism that was in the Bey post? Wouldn’t she be modding out all that? No. Instead she’s busy modding the Kate posts making sure no one says nothing TOO nice about her.she hates someone that has literally no effect on her more than racism.
Celebitchy is what happens when you have a bunch of white women who got woke in 2014 and a writer who is probably unattractive and unstylish herself but constantly thinks she has some authority on someone else fashion.
They all think their opinions are more important then actual WOC,Moc, people of the lGBTQ+ community, so whenever we have someone come in and give thier experience, they are shut down by the white feminism and racism. Or Kaiser mods them out .
I’m not even the type to do the whole “white folks are the devil” but CB is full of fake feminist. All the way.
—————————————–
They need to give Kate a break. I just can’t believe it - do they get a special kick out of dissing a pregnant woman’t fashion choices daily? It is disturbing.
And even if Kate didn’t have any fashion sense, so what? Is is a crime? In the 21th century a woman should be judged by her character, not her clothes.
I think Helena Boham Carter has no fashion sense, so what? What does it matter? She is still adorable.
The whole discussion was ridiculous. He cannot control whether he is bold or not, why is it even OK to be discussing it? People should’ve learned by now that it is not OK to discuss things that people cannot control such as looks, gender, race, ethnicity, one’s family etc.
But then Kaiser wouldn’t know what to write about half of the time.
Kaiser comes across as someone who haven’t really traveled or interacted with different cultures much. Her views are very American-centric. She doesn’t understand international perspective at all. She is not equipped to write for an international audience.
A few observations on the last weeks articles on CB:
1. People who keep talking about how awful Norman Reedus looks and how Joshua Jakson is so much better, just stop it. Happiness has nothing to do with looks. You can be with the most beautiful person in the world and still be unhappy if that person is not right for you and vice versa.
2.Aziz Ansari discucssion - whether it was an assault or not. It wasn’t an outright assault in my opinion, but that doesn’t make it somehow OK, or forgivable. He treated that young woman as a piece of meat. not a person. And he doesn’t even get it why it was wrong. Women shouldn’t have to accept that it is OK to treat them as piece of chattel. It is not OK to blame the woman for wanting and expecting more than just being a sex toy. Too many commenters sounded like it was the woman’s fault that she expected to be treated with more respect and consideration.
3. So, now that Meghan and Harry are proving to be Will&Kate #2, only without kids so far, I find it funny how their CB fans are coming up with excuses they never seems to think of in case of Wil&Kate - “ Harry is RICH! What else did people expect?”. I expected nothing different and this is why the monarchy needs to be abolished . What is the saying - none are so blind as those who refuse to see? That applies to the CB posters most of the time, so many of them have blinders on.
You can comment by adding notes under the posts or you can send your comment to me and I will publish it.
I agree with you there. It is not like people come to Celebitchy to have a serious political discussion. They come there because it became an echo chamber of Hillary’s supporters and her supporters get their validation there. I guess there aren’t many other places to get it .
Thank you for your kind words.
Today Kaiser decided to take an issue with Gal Gadot’s pink and red outfit. This is so petty, I just rolled my eyes.
Is Celebitchy a fashion blog now? That would be funny because Kaiser has no taste and no eye for fashion. Red and pink actually go well together and you’ll find this combination used by many designers.
One day Celebitchy is a progressive political blog ( see all Trump articles), or a champion for feminist issues (Harvey coverage), another day it is a trashy gossip blog ( various Swift, Kardashian and roayls articles) and other days it is just nasty pointless negative gossip that rips into people for superficial things like clothes and haircuts.
Does Kaiser even know who she wants to be when she grows up?
I don’t think she ever truly loved Meghan, I think it was a convenient narrative for her to compare Meghan to Kate and use it to bash Kate. And , well, now she got to criticize Meghan as well, and that means more clicks for Celebitchy and more money.
I said from the beginning that Meghan was entering into this to have a comfortable, secure life. And it seems that way more and more.
As for walking down the aisle and the “giving away” of the bride, I find this custom to be really questionable given its origins, sorry. We used to do that in my culture as well, but now the bride and the groom walk in together. I would love if Meghan and Harry did that. And that would end all the controversy right there.
The mental gymnastics they use trying to explain away the price of the dress are pretty amusing. They keep claiming that it must’ve been gifted or sold at a discount, even though it has been stated over and over that the royal family cannot accept clothes for free or at a discount, they pay full price.
It is really simple. Meghan is out of touch, and is not a humanitarian hero they created in their minds.
So, today Kaiser called Oscar Isaac’s partner his baby-mama. Some feminist she is … Someone needs to explain to her why this is a sexist term just like “knocked up”.
Absolutely, hypocrisy is the way at CB.
I was pretty impressed, though, that democrats made Franken resign and didn’t fall victim to the political expediency, which is often the case. To be honest, I fully expected them to sweep it under the rug.
LAK and NIcole really went after each other on the Lupita’s article today. And it made me sad, because they are both right, they both have valid points, but that is the nature of Celebitchy - people get too self-righteous, too absolute in their views and refuse to accept more nuanced views.
if you haven’t seen Lupita’s Vogue cover - take a look. It is absolutely gorgeous. I spent full 5 minutes just staring at it. It is so beautiful.
As for her point that colonialism causes an identity crisis, I don’t fully agree . I think colonialism impedes the development of the cultures that are colonized and it tries to subsume them but I think colonized people are still very clear about who they are.
I have to say, I very much enjoyed reading all the regulars on Celebitchy trying to reconcile the irreconcilable.
In their heads they created this image of Meghan Markle as a forward thinking progressive feminist, and now she is going to have to curtsy to Kate.
Apparently, Meghan can still remain a progressive feminist while doing so because it was her choice - their words , not mine.
I also felt quite a bit of disbelief about just how much people know about the rules of the royal family. Some people take the monarchy way too seriously. The monarchy should be abolished, and its archaic , sexist rules should be abolished with it.
SoulSPA poster went into great lengths to talk about people who know how to curtsy properly, as if it is some kind of a great accomplishment and not a sexist anachronism. But I am repeating myself ….
I just want to point out one thing on the Meghan Markle comments. She will have to give up her American citizenship. She cannot marry into the British Royal family and keep it. This type of divided loyalties will never be allowed, even if allowed by law.
In fact I remember seeing an article talking about the exit taxes and such she would have to pay to give up her American citizenship.
So, if the things go south, she will not be able to go back to the US as an American citizen. For the same reason, she will not have protection of American laws in such matters as prenup agreements.
On the article “ Lena Dunham casts herself as the only person with foresight on Harvey Weinstein “ there is a lot of criticism of Lena Dunham, which I have no problem with.
But it is very noticeable how everyone studiously avoiding the subject of Hillary Clinton knowing the truth about Harry Weinstein, because I have no doubt she knew, but she didn’t care enough to forgo hie influence and his donations.
Or maybe people did point it out but their comments their deleted. That blog post is supposed to have 76 comments as per the front page, but only 36 are published.
What is Kaiser’s problem with men saying that they are objectified as well? It is not either/or. Women are objectified, men are objectified. Both men and women feel diminished and disrespected when it happens. They are people and want to be seen as persons, not bodies.
I am talking about this post
Matt Smith is #MeToo-ing: Men are objectified too, ‘it’s not exclusive’ to women
Kaiser says
“
I have an honest question: when men start #MeToo-ing in this particular way, does it ever feel like they’re derailing the conversation? Does it ever feel like someone saying “all lives matter” to Black Lives Matter? We know men and boys are victimized, and they have every right to tell their stories and be believed, the same as women. But… the patriarchy is real, you know?
“
As I said, it is not either/ or. Patriarchy doesn’t make it OK to silence men. Just support both men and women. Simple.
It is like Kaiser doesn’t know what to do when things are not black and white.
Kaiser mercilessly mocked Kit Harrington when he talked about it. And that has been a sore point with me since then because Harrington was absolutely right. He was being an ally and he was trying to relate to women’s experiences and for that he was mocked. Matt got a slightly better treatment because Kaiser seems to like him more.
I am glad to hear that at least something good came out of it. I checked the popoholic site once because somebody asked me about it, and I never went back.
I remember a similar thing with the “knocked up” expression Kaiser used to love. I took an exception to it because I think this expression is disrespectful of women. It sounds like getting pregnant is not something a woman chooses to do, but she just gets pregnant because she doesn’t know where babies come from.
I was put into moderation for saying it. But I kept saying it. Finally, a few months later one of the regulars made the same point and finally it got through to Kaiser and she stopped saying “knocked up”.
I just read it … As much as I could take that is. By the time I got to Taylor’s “problematic feminism” I was DONE.
I simply don’t believe it is her feminism they have an issue with, I think they don’t like her and that is that. She cannot do anything right in their eyes.
Yes, you probably were banned. Saying anything positive about Taylor Swift would definitely put you on the side opposite to Kaiser. So you would be banned for any perceived infraction.
My friend who reads CB & Loved it, just told me that an few months back she got banned on an RBF post.
She was first put in moderation for the first time after agreeing with someone standing up for Kate, then she was put on moderation again and her comment was deleted in an JenAnniston post.
Finally, she was banned outright. She said she wrote CB an email 2 days in a row and got no response. Then the next RBF post she said that Kaiser made references to her email in the actual article.Mocking her.
No surpise that my friend was an black regular on CB. They seem to have no issue just disgarding us.
————————————————————————————————
Oh, that is the worst when Kaiser uses insider information to mock people over very real issues they bring up. This is hitting below the belt. When people send private messages they expect their privacy to be respected.
I remember her doing it last year during Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West drama. She made references to some people sending emails and dismissed anyone who was defending Swift as her fangirls, while she was making excuses for Kanye. But the thing people took issue with was Kanye’s misogyny. and it had nothing to do with being a fan of Taylor.
